FIRED UP: Two callow and witless high school football players attend cheerleading camp in dreams of seducing the squad.  The characters relentlessly attack each other with inane chatter and the forced jollity of minimum-wage workers passing out free cheese samples at the supermarket. (PG-13) One star — Roger Ebert

I’VE LOVED YOU SO LONG: Kristin Scott Thomas in a strong performance as a woman released from prison after 15 years and returning to live with a sister and brother-in-law who do not greet her warmly.  The event in her past is not widely known about in the present, but presents her with a social minefield and employment problems.  Set in the French city of Nancy, with Scott Thomas effortlessly acting in French. (PG-13) Three and a half stars – RE

SUMMER’S TAIL: An insightful look into the lives of four teenagers. From Taiwan. Part of the Blue Mouse’s Tacoma Sister Cities International Film & Food festival. (NR) – BW

TYLER PERRY’S MADEA GOES TO JAIL: America's favorite irreverent, pistol-packin' grandmomma is back.  This time Madea has found herself in jail, the result of a high speed car chase and anger management issues.  While in jail, Madea befriends a young prostitute played by Keshia Knight Pulliam.  That’s right, Rudy from the Cosby show. (PG-13) — BW
