Wednesday, March 31: "Transfigurations"

Schneebeck Concert Hall

By Volcano Staff on March 25, 2010

Like controversy? We do. That's why we're pumped for playwright, comedian, actor and activist Peterson Toscano and his one-man play, Transfigurations: Transgressing Gender in the Bible, at the University of Puget Sound. What's controversial about a one-man play, you might ask. Oh, nothing - unless it "explores the life of transgender individuals using stories from the Hebrew and Christian scriptures." Did we mention Toscano spent 17 years and more than $30,000 trying to repress his sexuality before finally coming out? Trust us - it'll be good. The performance coincides with International Day of Transgender Visibility.
