Saturday, Dec. 11: Pokemon City Championships

The Game Matrix

By Volcano Staff on December 8, 2010

Not going to lie here: we really have no idea what Pokemon is about. I mean, we had a girlfriend in the '90s that was really into Pikachu, and later glo-sticks, and later ecstasy, but something tells us there will be very little ecstasy at the officially sanctioned Pokemon City Championships at the Game Matrix in Lakewood Saturday. This is probably a good thing. What we do expect is folks that are super fucking serious about playing the Pokemon card game. Do well in the City Championships and players just might find themselves in the Regional Championships. The good luck continues? Maybe proceed on to the "Battle Road Spring and Nationals Championships," and perhaps even the World Championships next August. Complete all of that? You never have to move out of your parents' basement.

PREDICTION: Like we said, very little ecstasy at this event. Very little.
