WINO WEDNESDAY

The Red Hot pours wine for $3 a glass every Wednesday. Check it out at 2914 Sixth Ave. in Tacoma.

FREE COOKING CLASS

Instructor Pat Leslie opens the Bayview School of Cooking kitchen as your hostess the first Thursday of each month for a free cooking school event. The first “Pat’s Kitchen” will be Crepe Finesse April 2 from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Check it out at 516 Fourth Ave. in downtown Olympia.

ARTFUL COOKING

Chef Danielle Klinkhamer will whip up a Pacific Northwest gourmet meal in 20 minutes — inside the Tacoma Art Museum. She will incorporate ingredients from local markets for you to taste, then send you on your way with a gift basket full of the meal ingredients and a bottle of wine. The cooking demonstration includes a menu tasting, wine pairing and a dessert created by Rock Hushka, curator of Contemporary and Northwest Art at Tacoma Art Museum, and Northwest Biennial artist Debora Moore. The cooking demonstration costs $75 for two people, $70 for members. You can skip the gift basket for $45 and $40, respectively. The class size is limited; reserve your space by calling 253.722.2455.

THE TUDORS

Click! Cable TV will host a free Showtime party Friday, March 27 at WineStyles Wine & Gifts on North Pearl in Tacoma. Chow down on appetizers, drink from the no host wine bar, win prizes and catch a special screening of The Tudors Season 3 premiere. Death, nudity and wine — nice. Reserve either the 6 or 8 p.m. seating by calling 253.502.8900.

PRIMO CLASS

Primo Grill hosts a paella cooking class Saturday, April 4 from 2-4 p.m. The cost is $65, which includes recipes and instruction, lunch with a glass of wine, tax and gratuity. Reserve your space at 253.383.7000.

BEER AND NPR

Nothing says home to the Weekly Volcano like pints of beer and National Public Radio. We’re a fan of both. And we’re a fan of Doyle’s Public House. Doyle's Public House will be donating $1 for every pint of Guinness and Beamish it sells during two pledge drives this spring — KUOW 94.9FM and KPLU 88.5FM — March 23-April 2. Buy a Guinness if you support KUOW. Buy a Beamish if you support KPLU. We suggest you buy both. Doyle’s is at 208 St. Helens in Tacoma.
