HEAT AND EAT: Firemen are hot. Running through blazing infernos, saving babies while sweat drips off their rippling muscles. Nothing wrong with conjuring up that image at least a couple times a day.  Engine House No. 9 (611 N. Pine St., Tacoma) can't guarantee you babe-tastic firemen, but they do offer a good night of night of eating. Monday nights are all you can eat spaghetti nights. $4.95 for a tasty plate of bottomless spaghetti. Drink specials and Engine House No. 9 beers on tap.

TACOMA CULINARY CRAWL: Formatted like a pub crawl, participants are invited to start at the Harmon Pub + Brewery to pick up scavenger hunt maps, enter a prize drawing and redeem a Tourism Revealed coupon for a $3 pint. To get a head-start, participants are encouraged to visit TourismRevealed.com to "join the investigation" and preview coupons before checking in at the Harmon. Participants are encouraged to visit BITE Restaurant, Galanga Thai Cuisine, Pacific Grill, The Swiss Pub and Indochine. A free shuttle service will be provided by Starline Luxury Coaches from the Harmon to Doyle's Public House, Adriatic Grill and Chevy's Fresh Mex. Each location in the crawl is a "case" on TourismRevealed.com where participants may redeem Tourism Revealed coupons, take photos as evidence for the scavenger hunt and upload images for the chance to win grand prizes. There's no charge to participate.

FREE PANCAKES: IHOP Restaurants will serve free pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 in exchange for a voluntary contribution to Children's Miracle Network.

LET'S DRINK SOME RUM: Hemingway drank it in doubles and Bluebeard pirated the seven seas fueled on the stuff. It's rum, and it's on a comeback in the South Sound, thanks to Stonegate Pizza and its huge Rum Bar. The Nosh League will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10 to taste rums, nosh and drawing raffle numbers. A representative from Martinique Distributors will lead us through the variant spellings and tastes of rum. The cost is the standard $15 a person. Flaunting your sugar plantation-style in tropical threads earns admiring glances/batted lashes. So let's flip the fan on, elevate the feet and sip the night away. You must be a Nosh League member to attend the rum tasting. To join, check out Nosh League on Facebook.
